Disaster Relief Update – Thursday, January 1, 2009

By David_p | January 3, 2009

“But, from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and His righteousness with their children’s children.” (Psalm 103:17)

2008 provided Southern Baptist Disaster Relief personnel with numerous opportunities to demonstrate the everlasting love of our Lord. As the new year begins let us dedicate ourselves anew to faithful service to the God who calls and equips us.

2009 Disaster Relief Award Nominations

Each year Southern Baptist Disaster Relief honors the distinguished service of some special individuals at the annual Disaster Relief Roundtable. These honorees display a unique passion for serving the Lord through the ministry of Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.

Nominations are now being accepted for the following disaster relief service awards:

Please go to www.namb.net/DRawards to read more about criteria/qualifications and to make nominations.

Nominations are open until February 20, 2009.

2008 ended with powerful storms across the United States. Hurricane force winds blasted Buffalo, New York and almost the entire island of Oahu, Hawaii was without power for a period of time. Between the coasts areas suffered avalanches and sheets of ice coated roadways. At the time of this publication there are no national responses underway.
